About the role
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking an Administrative Secretary to support managers within the Home Care St James community area. The role provides comprehensive administrative assistance, including payroll, HR, procurement, and facility coordination, while contributing to a respectful and collaborative workplace.
Key responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to managers, handling time‑keeping, payroll, and basic HR functions.
- Prepare purchase orders, verify deliveries, investigate discrepancies, and code invoices and expense claims.
- Coordinate routine facility operations such as parking, site orientations, equipment management, key/access control, repairs, maintenance, housekeeping, and security.
- Manage workload distribution within the administrative support team and ensure coverage across sites.
- Arrange meetings, transcribe and distribute minutes and agendas, and conduct information research.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold a respectful work environment.
Required profile
- Minimum five years of progressively responsible secretarial experience.
- High school diploma meeting Manitoba standards and successful completion of a formal post‑secondary administrative assistant program (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Strong problem‑solving ability, capacity to prioritize a large workload, and ability to work independently under pressure.
- Demonstrated teamwork, confidentiality, and adaptability to fast‑paced environments.
Required skills
- Experience with SAP (preferred).
- Proficiency in learning and using new computerised programs.
