About the role
We are seeking an Accountant to join a dynamic agricultural business in Canada. The role supports core financial operations, ensuring accurate month‑end close, reconciliations and timely reporting that drive informed decisions. You will work closely with procurement and operations to maintain financial integrity across rebate programs and margin analysis.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare month‑end journal entries and support timely financial close processes.
- Perform monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to record accurate accruals and track rebate programs.
- Reconcile rebate payments and receipts, ensuring consistency across financial systems.
- Support monthly reporting cycles, including margin analysis and variance explanations.
- Lead and participate in meetings with internal stakeholders to review financial performance and resolve issues.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies in partnership with cross‑functional teams.
- Maintain internal controls and contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Commerce, Business, or Accounting.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a business or corporate environment.
- CPA designation completed or in progress is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently while building strong cross‑functional relationships.
