Accountant – 3‑6 Month Contract (Toronto)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Accountant to join our Finance team on a 3‑to‑6‑month contract. Based in Toronto, you will support daily accounting operations, contribute to month‑end close, and ensure accurate financial records across revenue, payables, receivables, and general ledger activities.

Key responsibilities

• Post sales and revenue transactions accurately.
• Process accounts payable, including invoice verification, approval filing, and uploading to AP software.
• Monitor and reconcile company bank accounts, handling debit and credit card transactions.
• Code and export expense‑management transactions.
• Download and prepare monthly financial reports from various tools.
• Support bookkeeping using QuickBooks, including data entry and ledger management.
• Download and archive utility bills each month.
• Assist with month‑end close preparation and related finance tasks.
• Provide general administrative support to the Finance team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in accounting or finance functions.
• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
