3rd/4th Year Automotive Service Apprentice

About the role

OpenRoad Subaru Boundary in Burnaby is seeking a 3rd/4th year apprentice for its Service department. This regular full‑time position pays $26 per hour and provides hands‑on experience with a wide range of OEM brands.

Key responsibilities

• Receive repair orders, perform work efficiently and accurately according to dealership and factory standards.
• Communicate with the parts department to obtain required parts and tag warranty items.
• Examine vehicles for additional safety or service needs and advise the Service Advisor of any extra work.
• Update the dispatcher on job status, especially for “RUSH” or “CUSTOMER WAITING” orders.
• Document work performed, road‑test vehicles, and report discrepancies to the Service Manager.
• Maintain a clean, safe shop environment and comply with hazardous waste regulations.

Required profile

• Working knowledge of automotive equipment and strong diagnostic/problem‑solving abilities.
• Highly self‑motivated, organized and committed to delivering high‑quality work.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the Service team.
• Valid British Columbia driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
• Availability to work shift Saturdays.
