About the role
The national public broadcaster CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking a senior finance leader to serve as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Reporting directly to the President and CEO and joining the Senior Executive Team, the CFO will provide strategic financial stewardship, guide transformation initiatives, and ensure the corporation’s resources support its public mandate and digital future.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the corporation’s financial strategy, planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
- Maintain robust internal controls, risk management practices and governance compliance.
- Advise the Board of Directors, Audit Committee and senior leadership on financial matters.
- Lead large finance teams through modernization, data‑driven decision‑making and change management.
- Foster trusted relationships with federal partners, oversight bodies and unions.
Required profile
- Seasoned finance executive with extensive experience in complex, publicly accountable organisations.
- Proven ability to act as a strategic advisor to CEOs, Boards and Audit Committees.
- Demonstrated track record of modernising finance functions and leading large‑scale transformations.
- Full bilingual proficiency in English and French.
- Strong strategic acumen, stewardship mindset and commitment to long‑term sustainability.
