Technical Service Representative (Contract)

About the role

The Technical Service Representative will join BASF’s Agricultural Solutions team in the Peace Region, supporting summer demand‑creation activities such as large‑scale grower trials and demonstration sites. Reporting to the Regional Technical Manager, the role blends field agronomy, data collection, and technical training to help customers achieve sustainable crop outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and manage demand‑creation trials, handling all technical requirements including operation of spraying, maintenance and harvest equipment.
• Supervise Technical Agronomy Interns and ensure accurate data collection from large‑scale trials.
• Coordinate third‑party research and demo sites, maintaining strong relationships with partners.
• Build and maintain relationships with centers of influence such as universities, consultants, extension staff and retail agronomists.
• Develop and deliver technical presentations to internal and external audiences.
• Provide technical training and product positioning support to the sales team.
• Support defined external customers, aligning marketing, sales and technical messages.
• Translate field and university research data into tools that aid marketing and sales tactics.

Required profile

• M.Sc in Agriculture, Biology or related discipline with emphasis on crop science, weed science, agronomy, entomology, or plant pathology (preferred) and at least 1.5 years relevant experience.
• B.Sc with a minimum of 3 years experience in sales, research or related functions (acceptable).
• Demonstrated experience in the agriculture industry and familiarity with growers’ needs.
