Senior Accountant

About the role

Woodfibre LNG Limited is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join its finance team as the project transitions from construction to operations. This position offers the chance to combine financial planning & analysis, business partnering, and reporting within a large‑scale LNG export facility project.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with operations, project, procurement and corporate teams to provide financial insights and support decision‑making.
• Develop the company’s first 5‑year operating budget and long‑range financial plan.
• Build and maintain financial models, prepare budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses to guide planning decisions.
• Prepare regular financial reporting packages for local and international stakeholders, including clear commentary on results and trends.
• Support the preparation of IFRS financial statements, month‑end and quarter‑end close, journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Coordinate with the overseas shared services centre on close activities and assist with external audit processes.
• Contribute to the enhancement of accounting policies, internal controls and reporting processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• CPA designation.
• 4‑7 years of relevant accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Experience in large‑scale project environments or the energy sector is advantageous.
