School Based Math Facilitator – Term Position

About the role

The School Based Math Facilitator will support student achievement in priority elementary schools across the Eastern Ontario region. Working under the Board Math Lead and the Principal of Curriculum and Student Success, the facilitator will focus on Grades 3, 6 and 9 during the September 2026 – June 2027 term.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct, in‑class support to students who need additional math assistance.
• Facilitate instructional sessions that reinforce math concepts and improve teaching methods.
• Implement consistent, high‑impact instructional practices and early‑intervention strategies.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to monitor progress toward improvement targets.
• Build teacher capacity in using effective numeracy practices and job‑embedded professional development.
• Travel to assigned rural schools and perform other duties as required.

Required profile

• Valid Ontario College of Teachers certificate.
• Primary/Junior Divisional and Math qualifications; Intermediate Math qualifications for secondary support.
• Special‑education qualifications or experience supporting students with special‑education programs.
• Deep knowledge of the Ontario math curriculum (2020‑2021).
• Extensive understanding of numeracy pedagogy, high‑impact practices, and intervention strategies.
• Strong knowledge of assessment, evaluation and reporting aligned with Growing Success and Board directives.
• Demonstrated leadership in school‑team environments and experience delivering teacher professional development.
• Valid driver’s licence, access to a vehicle and willingness to travel across the CDSBEO region.
