About the role
The People and Organizational Development (POD) Assistant supports the UBC Sauder School of Business by coordinating HR activities for employees, student workers, and faculty. This role ensures smooth onboarding, engagement, and ongoing HR administration across a diverse portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee a designated HR portfolio, providing guidance to employees, student workers, and faculty.
- Coordinate HR functions with managers, leaders, and faculty, including orientation, engagement initiatives, and events.
- Perform complex administrative tasks related to HR processes, record keeping, and reporting.
- Support the POD team in delivering a sense of belonging and community for over 300 staff and numerous student workers.
- Assist with HR policy implementation and ensure compliance with university standards.
Required profile
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple HR activities simultaneously.
- Experience supporting diverse employee groups in an academic or large‑organization setting.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with managers, faculty, and staff.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
