People and Culture Coordinator

About the role

Join Ronald McDonald House Toronto as a People and Culture Coordinator, supporting HR operations, recruitment, onboarding, and engagement initiatives across our downtown Toronto house and satellite locations. This 9‑month contract role reports to the Manager, People and Culture and offers exposure to a broad range of HR functions in a fast‑paced, 24/7 environment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end‑to‑end recruitment and onboarding for employees and volunteers, including interview scheduling, reference checks, offers, and compliance tracking.
• Maintain HR data in HRIS (Payworks) and volunteer management system (Volgistics), support payroll preparation, and ensure data integrity.
• Plan and deliver employee and volunteer engagement events, wellness programs, and recognition activities.
• Organise training sessions, manage registrations, materials, and compliance records; occasionally deliver presentations.
• Assist with policy drafting, process improvement, and HRIS upgrades.

Required profile

• Experience in recruitment, onboarding, and HR administration.
• Familiarity with HRIS platforms (e.g., Payworks) and volunteer management tools (e.g., Volgistics).
• Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, nonprofit environment.
