Patient Advisor (Volunteer)

About the role

The Manitoulin Health Centre is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Patient Advisor to champion patient‑ and family‑centered care. In this role you will act as a collaborative advocate, helping to improve the overall patient experience across the Little Current and Mindemoya sites.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with clinical and corporate teams to provide the patient perspective on policies and processes.
• Contribute ideas and feedback that enhance patient relations and care quality.
• Represent the voice of patients and families in meetings and improvement initiatives.
• Assist in developing strategies that promote a positive care experience.

Required profile

• Recent personal experience (within the past 2 years) as a patient or family member at either the Little Current or Mindemoya MHC sites.
• Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality of patient and organisational information.
• Willingness to collaborate with diverse teams and share constructive feedback.

Required skills

• Effective communication and active listening.
• Ability to provide clear, constructive input on care processes.
• Understanding of patient‑centred care principles.
