About the role

Join the Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform as an online Medical Terminology Tutor. You will work remotely, providing personalized instruction to students nationwide who are preparing for healthcare education, clinical rotations, or medical coding careers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1‑on‑1 online tutoring sessions focused on medical word roots, prefixes, suffixes, and body‑system terminology.
• Explain word‑building principles, pronunciation rules, and the application of terminology in clinical contexts.
• Guide students in breaking down complex terms, constructing new terms, and interpreting medical documentation.
• Adapt lessons using flashcards, system‑based organization, and document‑reading exercises to meet individual learning needs.

Required profile

• Deep mastery of medical terminology, including roots, affixes, abbreviations, and anatomical directional terms.
• Experience teaching systematic word analysis and helping students apply terminology to real‑world healthcare scenarios.
• Familiarity with common medical terminology curricula and typical student challenges.
• Strong communication skills, a friendly teaching style, and the ability to adapt to diverse learning styles.
