Legal Assistant – Aircraft Financing & Maintenance

About the role

Air Canada’s Legal Department is seeking a Legal Assistant to support the General Counsel – Aircraft Financing and Maintenance. Based in Montreal, you will work closely with paralegals and lawyers on transactions involving aircraft, engines, components and related maintenance agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, revise, edit, format and proofread complex agreements, confidential correspondence and memoranda.
• Maintain and organize files, precedent agreements and control documents for the Aircraft Financing and Maintenance team.
• Track correspondence, create “to‑do” lists and follow up with internal and external stakeholders.
• Enter deadlines in Outlook, key dates in Onit and archive documents in iManage.
• Coordinate meetings, seminars and conferences; process invoices, expense claims and travel arrangements.
• Register security interests and conduct searches in international registries and PPSA registers.
• Maintain CLE tracking and support other administrative tasks as directed by counsel.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years experience in legal secretarial or assistant roles, preferably in a corporate or law‑firm environment.
• Full proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to multitask.
• Professional interpersonal skills and a collaborative team mindset.
