HR Manager – Factory Operations

About the role
This position ensures operational excellence in people and labor relations for a high‑performing, engaged, and compliant factory workforce. You will partner closely with site leadership to drive talent strategy, strengthen employee relations, and support a safe, inclusive, and productive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead talent processes for the factory population, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, development planning, and succession planning.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Head of Factory and leadership team on people strategy, organizational effectiveness, and change management.
- Partner with site leadership to identify skill gaps and coordinate learning and training initiatives for both hourly and salaried employees.
- Oversee workforce planning, headcount management, and absenteeism control.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, labor laws, OHS requirements, and internal policies.
- Interpret, administer, and ensure compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
- Lead grievance management, investigations, and resolutions, including arbitration preparation.
- Advise line leaders on discipline, attendance, performance, and corrective action.
- Support collective bargaining preparation, data analysis, costing, and communication planning.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives aligned with site priorities, safety culture, and wellness.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of HR operations experience, preferably in a manufacturing/FMCG environment.
- Proven experience in a unionized setting with hands‑on labor relations and grievance management.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Willingness to work off‑shifts and support night‑shift employees.
