Hospitalist

About the role

We are seeking a Hospitalist to join Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. The Hospitalist will provide acute inpatient medical care, act as the most responsible physician for complex cases, co‑manage surgical patients and deliver palliative care within a collaborative, community‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a daily census of 12‑16 in‑patients in the acute care setting.
• Serve as the most responsible physician for complex medical admissions.
• Co‑manage surgical patients and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Provide palliative care and end‑of‑life support as needed.
• Collaborate with specialists, family physicians and allied health staff.

Required profile

• Medical degree and eligibility for licensure in British Columbia.
• Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine.
• Ability to work 8‑hour shifts, full‑time or part‑time, including locum opportunities.
• Commitment to quality improvement and teamwork.

Required skills

• Clinical expertise in acute inpatient medicine.
• Proficiency in electronic medical record systems.
