Full-Time Sociology Lecturer (T8/T12) – 2026/27

About the role

The Department of Sociology at the University of Alberta is seeking full‑time lecturers (T8 or T12) to begin in September 2026. The appointment can be for an 8‑month or 12‑month term, with the possibility of renewal.

Key responsibilities

• Teach six courses over an eight‑month term (T8) or eight courses over a twelve‑month term (T12).
• Deliver undergraduate courses in areas such as research methods, criminology, social theory, inequality, and social problems.
• Contribute to the department’s academic community and uphold teaching excellence.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Sociology or a closely related discipline, or near completion of the degree.
• Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching.
• Prior experience teaching Sociology is an asset.
