Sessional Lecturer – Introduction to Data Science & Analytics

About the role

The Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering seeks a sessional lecturer to teach MIE1624F – Introduction to Data Science and Analytics during the September‑December 2026 term. The instructor will guide undergraduate engineering students through analytical models, quantitative algorithms, and practical Python implementations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lecture material for the course
• Supervise teaching assistants and coordinate their activities
• Design, administer, and grade tests, exams, and assignments
• Evaluate final grades and provide timely feedback to students
• Maintain regular contact with students to support learning

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering lectures or serving as a teaching assistant
• Deep knowledge of data science, analytics, and related engineering applications
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Limited License (LEL) preferred; Engineering Intern (EIT) acceptable
