Food Service Supervisor

About the role

Nova Era Bakery Supply Inc. is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee large‑volume bakery and wholesale store operations in Toronto. The role involves coordinating staff, managing inventory, and ensuring food quality and safety standards are consistently met. You will also develop production schedules, maintain records, and recommend personnel actions.

Key responsibilities

• Establish methods and work schedules to meet production targets.
• Develop detailed production schedules and duty assignments for staff.
• Requisition food, kitchen supplies and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Keep records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food.
• Train employees on job duties, sanitation and safety procedures.
• Ensure food quality and service meet established quality control standards.
• Inspect work areas to maintain safe working conditions and equipment functionality.
• Prepare and submit regular operational reports.
• Recommend personnel actions such as hiring, promotions and other staffing decisions.

Required profile

• Flexibility and strong leadership capabilities.
• 2 to less than 3 years of experience in a large‑volume bakery or wholesale food environment.
• Ability to follow sanitation, safety and quality standards.
