Director, Supply Chain & Materials Management

About the role

Demers Ambulances is seeking a Director of Supply Chain & Materials Management to lead and optimise all supply‑chain functions for its ambulance manufacturing operations in Beloeil, Quebec. The role is responsible for inventory strategy, procurement, supplier management and warehouse operations, ensuring seamless support for production and after‑sales service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing supply‑chain team, fostering engagement and continuous improvement.
• Define and execute supply‑chain strategies aligned with business objectives, establishing KPIs to monitor performance.
• Oversee sourcing, supplier selection, contract negotiations and RFP processes, maintaining strategic supplier relationships.
• Drive cost‑optimization initiatives, improve quality, increase efficiency and implement Lean and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
• Manage inventory levels, optimise turnover, control obsolete and warranty‑related materials, and enhance inventory reporting systems.
• Supervise warehouse operations and material flow throughout the plant.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations or a related field.
• 10+ years of supply‑chain, procurement or inventory management experience in manufacturing.
• 8+ years of leadership experience.
• Fluent French language proficiency.
• Professional certifications such as ACGA are an asset.

Required skills

• Strong negotiation and supplier‑management capabilities.
• Deep knowledge of supply‑chain planning, inventory management and Lean principles.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
