Dental Assistant II – Maternity Leave Replacement

About the role

The Dental Clinic at the Faculty of Dentistry seeks a Dental Assistant II to cover a maternity leave on a fixed‑term basis. You will support faculty and dental students in a fast‑paced clinical environment, ensuring smooth operation of chairside procedures and sterilization processes.

Key responsibilities

• Set up instruments and equipment for dental procedures.
• Provide chairside assistance to faculty and students.
• Disinfect and sterilize supplies and instruments in the dispensary and central sterilization area.
• Dispense supplies and materials to dental students.
• Prepare and assist during clinical demonstrations.
• Maintain cleanliness of cubicles, dispensaries, and lab areas.
• Handle heavy instrument cassettes and operate ultrasonic sterilizers safely.

Required profile

• B.C. dental assistant certification and a current license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a hot sterilizer environment and follow safety protocols.
• Physical capability to lift instrument cassettes and load/unload trolleys.
