Part‑time Personal Support Worker (PSW)

About the role

Extendicare is seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as Part‑time Personal Support Workers (PSWs). In this role you will provide direct, hands‑on care to patients in community home‑care settings, supporting their physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with ambulation, feeding, bathing, grooming and other activities of daily living.
• Deliver care in accordance with established policies, procedures, nursing care plans, and relevant legislation.
• Document care activities accurately using care‑planning systems.
• Communicate positively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff.
• Travel to client homes using a reliable vehicle.

Required profile

• Completed a PSW program or hold a valid HCA/CCA certification.
• Experience in long‑term care or community home‑care settings is preferred, especially with dementia or palliative‑care clients.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English instructions.
• Capacity to work independently and follow care plans.

• Proficiency with care‑planning documentation systems.
