Data Entry Clerk – Health Records

About the role

The Data Entry Clerk joins CancerCare Manitoba’s Health Records team to ensure patient lab results and health information are accurately entered into the electronic health record system. This role supports clinical operations by maintaining data integrity and confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

• Enter patient lab results and health information into the electronic health record with high accuracy and timeliness.
• Scan and upload supporting documents as required.
• Verify entered data against source documents and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality in line with CCMB policies.
• Assist with routine data quality checks and reporting.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience entering lab results or similar data entry work.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work legally in Canada and maintain a satisfactory employment record.
• Typing speed of at least 10,000 keystrokes per hour (≈40 wpm) with less than 1 % error rate.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using electronic medical record systems.
• Familiarity with MAXON/ARIA software.
• Knowledge of terminal digit order for record filing.
