Construction Estimator

About the role

We are seeking a Construction Estimator to join our team on‑site. You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial, industrial and residential projects, supporting the bidding process and ensuring cost‑effective project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare labour, material and overhead estimates using master‑format (Class A) methods.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Operate CADD and various estimating, take‑off and scheduling software.
• Generate estimate reports, quote sheets and bid forms for client submissions.
• Advise on tendering procedures and monitor contract expenditures.
• Maintain a directory of suppliers and trade contractors.
• Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on cost adjustments.

Required profile

• Secondary (high school) graduation certificate.
• 2–3 years of experience in construction estimating (commercial, industrial or residential).
• Ability to work under pressure with strong attention to detail.
• Client‑focused with excellent oral and written communication.
• Flexible, organized, proactive team player.

Required skills

• Proficiency with estimating packages and take‑off software.
• Experience using scheduling packages.
• Database and spreadsheet competence.
• AutoCAD (CADD) knowledge.
• MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint.
• QuickBooks and Xactimate.
