Mechanical Process Engineer – Power Plant Design

About the role

The Kiewit Power Engineering Group is expanding its Calgary team and seeks Mechanical Process Engineers to design, procure, and construct mechanical systems for power plants and industrial facilities. You will contribute to reliable, sustainable, and cost‑effective energy production.

Key responsibilities

• Apply engineering techniques, industry codes, and standards to project designs.
• Perform detailed engineering analyses, calculations, and equipment selection.
• Develop mechanical piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for steam cycles, boiler feed, condensate, water‑treatment, and related systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure constructability, safety, and project schedule adherence.
• Provide technical leadership, project ownership, and mentorship as experience grows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering.
• Mid‑level to senior experience in power‑plant or industrial mechanical design.
• Strong understanding of industry codes, standards, and best practices.
• Ability to work onsite in Calgary and coordinate with construction teams.
