About the role
The Constituency Assistant supports the daily operations of a Member of Parliament's constituency office. You will be the first point of contact for constituents, handling communications, organizing correspondence, and providing administrative and case‑work support.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and triage incoming calls, emails, and letters from constituents.
- Greet visitors, answer inquiries, and direct them to appropriate resources.
- Assist with data entry, filing, and preparation of formal correspondence.
- Maintain accurate records and update constituent databases.
- Support the Member of Parliament with scheduling, document preparation, and occasional social‑media updates.
Required profile
- Post‑secondary education or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Customer‑service experience in an office setting, preferably with reception or administrative duties.
- High level of confidentiality, professionalism, discretion, tact and diplomacy.
- Strong organizational, time‑management and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with great attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
Required skills
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
