Casual Building Operator – GTA

About the role

Black & McDonald’s Facilities Maintenance team is expanding and seeks a Casual Building Operator for weekday shifts across the Greater Toronto Area. The role involves routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and rapid response to equipment alarms to ensure safe and efficient building operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine property and site inspections and perform preventive and demand maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire‑prevention systems.
• Operate, maintain and repair boilers, chillers, pumps, generators, UPS, and building automation systems, including testing and troubleshooting.
• Monitor electrical power distribution and building automation systems, respond to alarms, and perform minor repairs such as faucet replacement, drain clearing, and breaker resets.
• Ensure all equipment operates in compliance with government codes, energy‑efficiency standards, and safety regulations.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of facilities maintenance and operations experience with strong technical capabilities in building systems.
• Ability to work independently, travel to multiple GTA sites, and hold a valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
• Full vaccination status required and ability to obtain necessary security clearance.
