About the role
The Town of Oakville is seeking a Camp Coordinator to support its summer camp programs. This temporary, part‑time student role runs from May to September 2026 and reports to the Recreation/Culture Coordinator. The position is ideal for a full‑time student looking to gain hands‑on experience in program administration and youth supervision.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in planning, delivering, and evaluating camp programs.
- Supervise and guide Senior Leaders and Playleaders, including training, performance observation, and evaluation.
- Coordinate staff schedules, mandatory training sessions, and site preparations to ensure programs start on time.
- Maintain health, safety, and public‑health standards; document accidents and incidents promptly.
- Lead during emergencies or critical incidents in the absence of full‑time staff.
- Distribute program materials and supplies, and communicate pertinent information to staff.
- Meet regularly with the Recreation/Culture Coordinator and Senior Leaders to review program quality.
Required profile
- Full‑time student status for the current academic year or confirmed enrollment for September 2026.
- Availability to work May‑September 2026, including mandatory staff functions.
- Strong leadership and supervisory abilities.
- Commitment to the HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development and to department policies.
