Cabinetmaker Apprentice – Residential Woodworking

About the role

Denca is seeking a motivated Cabinetmaker Apprentice to join our residential woodworking team in Calgary. You will work on kitchen cabinets and vanities, gaining hands‑on experience with a variety of woodworking equipment while learning to interpret plans and drawings.

Key responsibilities

• Operate power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers to cut, shape and form cabinet components.
• Use hand tools such as planes, chisels and wood files to finish surfaces and edges.
• Read and follow technical drawings, specifications and plans to produce accurate parts.
• Trim joints, fit sub‑assemblies and reinforce connections to create complete units.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment on the construction site.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of related experience in a fast‑paced, manual‑dexterity focused environment.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 23 kg (50 lb).
• Valid driver’s licence, own vehicle and clean driving record.
• Reliability, punctuality and strong teamwork orientation.

Required skills

• Operation of power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers.
• Proficiency with hand tools: planes, chisels, wood files.
• Interpretation of technical drawings and specifications.
