About the role
AK FRAMING INC is seeking an experienced carpenter to join its team in Calgary. The role involves a variety of construction and renovation tasks across multiple sites.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare labour and material cost estimates.
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes and lightweight steel.
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
- Supervise other workers on site.
- Maintain, repair and renovate residential and commercial wooden structures.
Required profile
- Reliability and strong teamwork orientation.
- Physically capable of demanding work and willing to work evenings, mornings, days and weekends.
- 3 to 5 years of carpentry experience.
- Secondary school graduation.
Required skills
- Blueprint reading.
- Accurate measuring.
- Cutting and shaping of wood and related materials.
- Assembling and joining components.
- Installation of windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
