Senior Nurse

About the role

Hillview Medical Centre is seeking an experienced NMC Registered Nurse to join the team as a Senior Nurse. The role involves delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care in a primary‑care setting while supporting the development of nursing protocols and mentoring colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor chronic disease patients, creating and reviewing individual care plans.
• Conduct assessments, diagnoses, treatments and therapeutic monitoring, including complex wound care and Doppler assessments where competent.
• Perform health checks, cervical screening, travel health advice and administer adult and childhood immunisations.
• Act as first point of contact for patients, working autonomously or alongside GPs, and support minor procedures and ear‑care within scope of practice.
• Deliver health education, undertake risk assessments, identify safeguarding concerns and promote preventive care.
• Maintain confidentiality, adhere to policies, PGDs and professional standards, and support infection‑control and safe specimen handling.
• Participate in clinical meetings, contribute to team development and ensure ongoing professional development and NMC revalidation.

Required profile

• Current NMC registration and ability to work within patient group directions.
• Prescribing qualification (where applicable) and competence in using it appropriately.
• Demonstrated experience in primary‑care nursing, chronic disease management and patient education.
• Commitment to the NMC Code of Conduct and high standards of clinical governance.
