Senior Nurse

About the role

Hillview Medical Centre is seeking an experienced NMC Registered Nurse to join our team as a Senior Nurse. Working in a primary‑care setting, you will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care while supporting the development of nursing protocols and mentoring colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor chronic disease patients, creating and reviewing individual care plans.
• Perform assessments, diagnoses, treatments and therapeutic monitoring, including complex wound care and Doppler assessments where competent.
• Conduct health checks, cervical screening, travel health advice and administer adult and childhood immunisations.
• Act as first point of contact for patients, working autonomously or alongside GPs, and assist with minor procedures and ear care.
• Deliver health education, undertake risk assessments, identify safeguarding concerns and promote preventive care.
• Maintain confidentiality, adhere to policies, PGDs and professional standards, and support infection‑control practices.
• Participate in clinical meetings, support team development and ensure ongoing professional development and NMC revalidation.

Required profile

• NMC registration with senior nursing experience in primary care.
• Ability to work independently, make clinical decisions and refer appropriately.
• Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Prescribing qualifications (where applicable).
• Proficiency in Doppler assessment.
• Complex wound care techniques.
• Cervical screening procedures.
• Administration of immunisations (adult and paediatric).
• Ear‑care within scope of practice.
