Senior Engineering Project Manager – Mining

About the role

Brunel is partnering with a leading mining organization on Project Aguila, a major mining and metallurgical facilities development. We are looking for a senior Engineering Project Manager to lead detailed engineering and execution for a specific technology package, initially based in Calgary and later rotating to the Arizona project site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage detailed engineering and execution activities for the assigned technology package.
• Develop, review, and control Engineering Work Packages (EWPs) to ensure proper scope, sequencing, and schedule alignment.
• Establish engineering schedules, monitor progress, and report against master and look‑ahead plans.
• Maintain accountability for scope, cost, schedule, safety, and quality throughout engineering delivery.
• Evaluate, manage, and approve engineering changes, minimizing cost and schedule impacts.
• Coordinate with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to embed constructability and operability requirements.
• Implement QA/QC frameworks and oversee 3D intelligent design environments.
• Facilitate engineering risk assessments, HAZOP studies, and technical reviews.

Required profile

• Extensive EPCM experience on large, complex industrial or mining projects.
• Proven leadership in engineering delivery from definition through commissioning.
• Strong ability to manage scope, cost, schedule, and quality controls.
• Excellent stakeholder management with site leadership, health & safety, and internal teams.
