Senior Corporate Accountant

About the role

The Senior Corporate Accountant reports to the Senior Manager, Finance and leads the design and execution of best‑in‑class period‑end close processes. This role prepares consolidated financial statements for Tree of Life Canada and its subsidiaries and ensures compliance with accounting standards for internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain efficient period‑end close procedures, delivering timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Prepare and consolidate financial statements for the organization and its subsidiaries.
• Coordinate with FP&A, Accounting Operations, and external consultants on reporting and process transformation initiatives.
• Serve as the technical accounting resource, updating finance policies and monitoring changes in accounting standards.
• Manage statutory filings, including HST, property tax, and other regulatory returns.
• Liaise with external auditors to support quarterly reviews and annual audits, and address accounting disclosures.
• Oversee fixed‑asset accounting, inventory, and cost‑of‑sales reporting.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA) with several years of corporate accounting experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead period‑end close processes and produce accurate consolidated statements.
• Strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards and statutory filing requirements.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
