Research Assistant – Cancer Epidemiology (Full‑time)

About the role
The Division of Cancer Epidemiology at McGill University seeks a full‑time Research Assistant to support a new study launching in September 2025. You will contribute to participant recruitment, data acquisition, and day‑to‑day study operations while gaining experience in epidemiologic research.
Key responsibilities
- Recruit participants and acquire study data.
- Manage and clean datasets using Stata, SAS, or R.
- Conduct statistical analyses for cancer epidemiology projects.
- Prepare written, tabular, and visual materials for reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
- Assist with systematic reviews, meta‑analyses, and routine administrative duties (website, social media, biobank storage, fundraising).
- Support study initiation activities such as ethics submissions, consent forms, questionnaires, and study manuals.
- Participate in and present at team meetings and seminars.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in epidemiology.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of epidemiologic and clinical study designs (RCTs, cohort, case‑control, cross‑sectional).
- Experience in cancer research is preferred.
Required skills
- Advanced statistical analysis of epidemiologic data.
- Proficiency with Stata, SAS, and/or R.
What we offer
- Hourly salary of $31.44 (CAD).
- Fixed‑term contract (12 months) with full‑time hours (40 h/week).
