About the role
The University of British Columbia is seeking a Junior Research Coordinator to support the “Improving equitable access to safe and effective ovarian cancer prevention through opportunistic salpingectomy” project. The role is based in the Indigenous Equity Lab within the Women’s Health Research Institute and focuses on advancing culturally safe ovarian cancer prevention for Indigenous communities in British Columbia.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in designing and coordinating research activities related to opportunistic salpingectomy and ovarian cancer prevention.
- Collect, manage, and organize quantitative and qualitative data from community sites.
- Support knowledge translation efforts, including preparing reports, presentations, and community‑focused materials.
- Plan and help execute events, workshops, and community engagement activities across BC.
- Collaborate with Indigenous partners, researchers, and health professionals to ensure culturally appropriate approaches.
- Travel occasionally to remote and rural communities as required.
Required profile
- Recent graduate or early‑career professional with interest in health research and Indigenous equity.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Willingness to travel to diverse locations across British Columbia.
