Director of Technology – Remote Contract

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned technology leader to head INFUSE’s engineering function on a remote, contract basis. The role will shape the technology strategy, drive AI-native product development and scale a high-performing engineering organization.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the technology roadmap for both backend and frontend, ensuring predictability, quality and performance.
• Recruit, onboard and mentor engineering managers and individual contributors, establishing clear career ladders and performance processes.
• Set architecture and engineering standards using Node.js (LTS), NestJS, pnpm, esbuild, React, Vue 3, Vite and strong typing practices.
• Foster an AI-native culture by identifying high-impact AI use cases, establishing safe adoption patterns and developer workflows.
• Own edge and security posture with Cloudflare services (WAF, DDoS protection, CDN, access controls) and ensure system resilience and observability.
• Elevate security and compliance maturity through threat modeling, secure SDLC, dependency management, secrets handling and audit readiness.
• Implement modern engineering operations including delivery metrics, CI/CD pipelines, release management and post-incident reviews.

Required profile

• Proven senior technology leadership experience (Director of Technology, VP Engineering, CTO or similar) with responsibility for multiple teams.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures and technologies such as Kafka.
• Track record of scaling engineering organizations and delivering secure, high-quality software products.
