Corporate Controller

About the role

The Corporate Controller will lead the Canadian finance function for a fast‑growing private‑equity backed heavy‑equipment engineering company. Reporting to the CFO and partnering with the Managing Director, Canada, the role ensures financial integrity, compliance, and strategic insight across all Canadian operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare timely financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and conduct detailed variance analysis.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, produce rolling forecasts, and monitor budget‑to‑actual performance.
• Implement and monitor internal controls, ensure CRA compliance, and coordinate internal, external, and government audits.
• Supervise payroll processing, tax remittances, and benefits administration.
• Manage daily cash flow, produce weekly cash reports and a 13‑week cash forecast, and optimise working capital.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of seven accounting professionals across multiple locations.

Required profile

• Senior finance professional with proven leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, Canadian tax regulations, and audit processes.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with senior executives and drive financial performance.
