Clinical Pharmacist – Client Advisor (Hybrid)

About the role

The Clinical Pharmacist – Client Advisor will develop, manage and deliver pharmacy benefit management services for Express Scripts Canada. Working in a hybrid model (two days on‑site per week), the role combines clinical expertise with client‑facing responsibilities to support a portfolio of insurance carriers and third‑party administrators.

Key responsibilities

• Represent Express Scripts Canada as a subject‑matter expert on drug formularies, drug trends and clinical programs.
• Provide strategic direction and clinical expertise for the implementation, communication, education and maintenance of clinical programs and formularies.
• Lead the Prior Authorization program, reviewing requests, gathering medical information and making coverage decisions.
• Serve on the Drug Plan Validation Committee, delivering knowledge transfer on complex clinical topics to customers.
• Collaborate with the Account Management team to build and maintain key client relationships, anticipating client needs and expectations.
• Ensure accurate, thorough and timely documentation of patient status while complying with ESC policies on personal and health information.

Required profile

• Licensed pharmacist with strong clinical knowledge and experience in pharmacy benefit management.
• Proven ability to interact with internal and external customers, providing insights on pharmacy practice, drug trends and legislation.
• Experience leading clinical programs, such as Prior Authorization and drug formulary development.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex clinical information to clients and healthcare professionals.
