Telecommunications Technician – Installation & Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Telecommunications Technician to join our team in a fast‑paced environment. You will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining telephone and networking equipment in our central offices and customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and test cable signals and related equipment.
• Diagnose, locate, and repair faults in telecommunications hardware.
• Install, arrange, remove and maintain telephone equipment, wiring and associated hardware.
• Test installed telephone systems to identify transmission faults and adjust switching systems as needed.
• Install electromechanical, analog and digital trunking systems in central offices.
• Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and operating systems.
• Implement data, software and hardware security procedures, perform backups and disaster‑recovery operations.
• Set up local area networks, internet connections and monitor network traffic and server performance.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of hands‑on experience in telecommunications or related field.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and handle repetitive tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Good colour discrimination, sound discrimination and ability to lift heavy loads.
• Excellent oral and written communication, client‑focused and a team player.
