Solids Control Field Technician (Remote, Canada)

About the role

Stage 3 is seeking a Solids Control Field Technician to support drilling operations across Canada. The position involves on‑site work at remote locations, operating and maintaining specialized solids control equipment while adhering to strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical processes for enhanced drilling and recycled drilling fluid systems.
• Rig up and rig down equipment on various project sites.
• Operate shaker tanks, centrifuges, drying equipment, and pumps.
• Perform fluid analysis (weight, viscosity, retort) and solids control services such as air drilling, barite recovery, de‑watering, and cuttings drying.
• Conduct routine mechanical and basic electrical maintenance on equipment.
• Operate heavy machinery safely under supervision.
• Maintain a clean work environment using pressure‑washing equipment.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and complete PJRA/JSA, inspection, and observation reports.

Required profile

• Willingness to work 12‑hour shifts on a 14‑days‑on/7‑days‑off rotational schedule.
• Ability to travel domestically to remote sites across Canada.
• Readiness to learn and shadow experienced technicians.
• Commitment to safety protocols and proper PPE usage.

Required skills

• Operation of shaker tanks, centrifuges, drying equipment, and pumps.
• Basic electrical principles and maintenance.
• Fluid analysis techniques (weight, viscosity, retort).
• Heavy machinery operation.
• Use of pressure‑washing equipment.
