Social Media & Content Advisor

About the role

The Wilder Institute, in partnership with the Calgary Zoo, is looking for a permanent, full‑time Social Media & Content Advisor. You will craft engaging digital stories that inspire action for wildlife, wild places, and people, supporting the Institute’s vision of a thriving planet.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, create, and publish content for Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
• Produce, edit, and optimize short‑form video for social platforms.
• Maintain an editorial calendar aligned with campaigns, news, and updates.
• Manage community interactions, responding to comments and direct messages.
• Track, analyze, and report social media metrics to inform strategy.
• Develop briefs for influencer and brand‑ambassador collaborations.
• Provide copywriting support for video scripts, website copy, paid‑social campaigns, signage, and other marketing assets.
• Ensure all content follows brand voice, guidelines, and editorial standards.
• Assist with digital asset management, including cataloguing and archiving photos and videos.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented writer and editor with a strong storytelling ability.
• Creative thinker who can translate complex conservation work into compelling narratives.
• Collaborative team player comfortable in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
