Site Superintendent

About the role

The Site Superintendent leads and coordinates daily activities on construction sites, overseeing subcontractors, labourers, field engineers, and interns. This role ensures that safety protocols, schedules, quality standards, and budgets align with MGI’s objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Direct day‑to‑day work of all on‑site personnel and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Develop and implement risk‑mitigation strategies to meet financial targets, budgets, and profitability goals.
• Administer contracts, sub‑contracts, purchase orders, site instructions, and change notices.
• Identify design deficiencies, schedule interruptions, and other project issues, providing timely recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with Federal, Provincial and Municipal regulations, including OHSA, CSA, environmental, and accessibility standards.
• Mentor project team members to support career growth and development.
• Review and uphold contract terms and conditions throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading construction site teams and managing subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of OHSA, CSA, WHMIS, AODA, and related safety regulations.
• Ability to develop strategic plans that balance risk and opportunity.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting design issues and schedule impacts.
• Commitment to fostering a safe, collaborative work environment.
