Senior Project Manager – Construction

About the role

Granite is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large‑scale construction projects ranging from $15 M to $49 M. You will be responsible for directing project execution, ensuring financial performance, and delivering safe, on‑time results.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accurate project revenue and cost forecasting to meet profitability goals.
• Coordinate with estimators and project controls to establish and maintain budgets.
• Lead estimating efforts for vertically integrated projects and ensure consistent bid‑to‑build processes.
• Manage resources with sponsors and construction managers to keep schedules on track.
• Participate in bid review, bid closing, and feasibility evaluation.
• Develop comprehensive start‑up plans and facilitate project kick‑off.
• Maintain dynamic communication among engineers, foremen, superintendents and construction managers.
• Ensure proper job controls for quantities, costs, revenue and schedule.
• Build and sustain relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors and inspectors.
• Produce accurate construction reports for continuous performance improvement.
• Support corporate safety initiatives and maintain a safe work environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5‑10 years progressive project experience in heavy civil construction.
• Minimum five years experience in paving, dirt and grading in private or public settings.
• Knowledge of union agreements and prevailing wage issues.
• Demonstrated decision‑making and leadership abilities.
