Senior Principal, Capital Markets & Credit Investments

About the role

British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is seeking a Senior Principal to lead origination, underwriting, structuring and monitoring of investments in metals, mining and power capital structures within its Global Partnership Fund. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will shape the investment strategy and mentor junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Originate and evaluate new investment opportunities across metals, mining and power sectors.
• Lead due‑diligence processes, financial modeling and transaction structuring.
• Prepare investment committee materials and present recommendations.
• Monitor existing portfolio investments and manage ongoing relationships.
• Contribute to the development of BCI’s sector network and strategic approach.

Required profile

• 8+ years of direct transaction experience in metals and mining, gained through principal investing, investment banking or a comparable capital‑markets role.
• Demonstrated understanding of commodity fundamentals and mine‑finance structuring.
• Strong track record in deal evaluation and transaction structuring.
• Existing professional network within the metals, mining and power sectors.
