Senior Perception Engineer (Staff Level)

About the role

Waabi is a leader in Physical AI, building autonomous trucks and robotaxis. As a Senior/Staff Perception Engineer you will drive the development and deployment of perception algorithms that enable our self‑driving vehicles to understand the world around them.

Key responsibilities

• Prototype, evaluate, and iterate on perception algorithms using real‑world data and simulation to improve accuracy, robustness and safety.
• Develop 3D detection, tracking and semantic understanding of traffic scenes, and integrate them into the self‑driving stack.
• Collaborate with platform, motion‑forecasting, planning and sensor‑simulation teams to productize research breakthroughs.
• Maintain high‑quality, well‑structured and tested code and contribute to research publications and blog posts.

Required profile

• MS/PhD or BSc with at least 4 years of industry experience in computer science, machine learning or related fields.
• Proven track record of shipping machine‑learning models or perception features to production.
• Experience with 3D detection, tracking or semantic scene understanding for autonomous vehicles.
• Strong coding fundamentals and ability to work with large datasets.
• Collaborative, open‑minded team player comfortable in a fast‑growth environment.
