Staff Planner SW Quality Architect

About the role

Lead the SW Quality of our Planner Architecture, focusing on building robust fault‑tolerance systems to resolve critical downstream/upstream performance bottlenecks and ensure continuous, safe vehicle operation. Act as a critical technical bridge and enabler between the Motion Planning and the Onboard SW Teams, driving overall SW quality improvement and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the software quality of the Planner Architecture, building fault‑tolerance systems.
• Serve as a technical bridge between Motion Planning and Onboard software teams.
• Design and develop motion‑planning software and algorithms for dynamic traffic scenarios.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers and research scientists using an AI‑first approach.
• Manage the experimentation pipeline for research and data generation.

Required profile

• MS/PhD or Bachelor degree with at least 6 years of industry experience in Computer Science, Robotics or related fields.
• Experience owning software on a shipped product with reliability requirements.
• Strong grasp of software engineering principles, including code review, unit testing, scalability and maintainability.
• Experience with planning/decision‑making approaches such as optimal control, optimization, search methods or probabilistic decision making.
• Production‑quality coding skills in Python or C++.
