Senior Manager – Utilities (Electrical)

About the role

Metrolinx is seeking a Senior Manager, Utilities (Electrical) to lead enterprise‑level relationships with electrical utility owners and provide technical expertise for its capital transit projects. This on‑site role is based at the 10‑Bay Street office and works closely with project delivery teams across GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit and subway programs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with electrical network owners and stakeholders.
• Provide electrical distribution technical input for planning, relocation, or protection of existing assets to support Metrolinx projects.
• Advise project delivery teams on utility interaction processes, temporary and permanent service installations, and compliance with utility policies, asset‑management tools and legislation.
• Identify agreement requirements, negotiate terms with input from legal services, and chair regular utility owner meetings to align workloads and resources.
• Manage escalations with utility organizations to resolve issues promptly.
• Lead and grow a team of utilities professionals, ensuring succession planning and retention of institutional knowledge.

Required profile

• Extensive experience managing utility relationships within large infrastructure or transit projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and utility regulatory frameworks.
• Proven ability to negotiate agreements and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Leadership experience in hiring, coaching, and developing technical staff.
