Senior Construction Superintendent

About the role

Amico Affiliates is looking for a Senior Superintendent to lead on‑site construction activities for large‑scale public infrastructure projects in Ontario. The role involves managing daily site operations, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, budget control and quality compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all on‑site construction activities from mobilization through substantial completion.
• Develop, maintain and execute short‑term and long‑term construction schedules in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Supervise subcontractors, trades and suppliers to ensure productivity, quality and scope compliance.
• Enforce site safety in line with OHSA regulations and company policies; conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Coordinate inspections with consultants, engineers and regulatory authorities.
• Monitor quality control to ensure work meets drawings, specifications and building codes.
• Resolve site conflicts, design discrepancies and scheduling challenges proactively.
• Review and manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings and change directives.
• Maintain site documentation including daily logs, progress reports and meeting minutes.
• Plan site logistics such as material deliveries, equipment coordination and site access.
• Represent Amico Affiliates in client and consultant meetings.

Required profile

• 7–10+ years of experience as a Site Superintendent in industrial, commercial or institutional (ICI) construction.
• Proven track record delivering large institutional, public or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and OHSA regulations.
• Experience managing multiple trades in complex, phased environments.
• Gold Seal Certification or equivalent is an asset.

Required skills

• Construction scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Digital documentation platforms (Procore).
• Understanding of Ontario Building Code.
• Knowledge of OHSA safety regulations.
