Senior Android Engineer – Toronto

About the role

Fiserv is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join its Mobile Engineering team in downtown Toronto. You will be responsible for building and enhancing the Payfare Android applications, ensuring seamless integration with back‑end services and third‑party platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Support the full application lifecycle from concept and design through testing, release, and ongoing support.
• Develop new Android applications and add features to existing ones.
• Write clean, secure code and address any vulnerabilities identified through code scans and penetration tests.
• Design user interfaces that follow established design guidelines.
• Create comprehensive unit and end‑to‑end tests to maintain code quality.
• Maintain documentation, automation scripts, and code quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on Android.
• Deep understanding of OOP principles, Android framework components, and their lifecycles.
• Proven ability to work closely with product teams, designers, and other engineers.
• Experience diagnosing performance bottlenecks and optimizing Kotlin code.
• Familiarity with multiple Android API levels and best practices for concurrency and threading.
• Commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
