About the role
The Restaurant Manager will lead the daily operations of Sushi Umi, a Japanese cuisine restaurant in North Vancouver. You will be responsible for maintaining profitability, ensuring high-quality service, and overseeing a team of 5‑10 staff members.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze and develop budgets for food, ingredients, alcohol, and supplies.
- Monitor revenues, labour costs and adjust menu pricing accordingly.
- Plan, organize and supervise daily restaurant operations.
- Recruit, schedule, train and evaluate staff performance.
- Maintain inventory and negotiate with suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Handle customer complaints and provide excellent service.
- Participate in marketing initiatives and implement operational procedures.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of restaurant management experience, preferably in Japanese cuisine.
- College or CEGEP education.
- Proven ability to supervise a team of 5‑10 employees.
- Experience with budgeting, cost control and inventory management.
- Availability to work evenings, days, weekends and shifts.
